Wording Duel

Two players play a wording game. Given a target string and a dictionary of words, players alternate turns. On each turn, a player must append a word from the dictionary to the current string being built. The built string starts empty and must always be a prefix of the target string. The player who completes the target string (the last character placed) wins. Both play optimally. Determine if the first player can force a win.
