Another Game

Two players play a game with two piles of stones. Initially, pile A has a stones and pile B has b stones. On each turn, a player can perform one of the following moves:

  • Remove any positive number of stones from pile A only.
  • Remove any positive number of stones from pile B only.
  • Remove the same positive number of stones from both piles simultaneously.

The player who takes the last stone (removing the final stone from both piles) wins. Both players play optimally. Determine whether the first player can force a win.
